ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br /> A. Joe Steinfeld, Main Street, thanked the Council for their support of the <br /> Downtown Association's Market Day on November 18th, and described two <br /> future events, December 12th, a Children's Holiday Parade beginning at <br /> 11:00 a.m., and December 16th, the second Market Day, beginning at 9:00 <br /> a.m. <br /> B. Michelle Wilkinson, new Main Street merchant, opening "Club Chocolate" <br /> shop next door to Choice Clinic, described the problems caused by <br /> protesters on both sides of the abortion issue who loiter, litter and <br /> harass people who walk or drive by that block of Main Street. Mrs. <br /> Wilkinson described her extensive efforts to restore her rights as a <br /> citizen and business owner, described her recommended solutions, and <br /> asked Council for help before she loses the business she has yet to open. <br /> Councilman Claire described his efforts to resolve this issue and the <br /> mediation efforts now taking place, and advised Mrs. Wilkinson and the <br /> Council that the results of these efforts would be reported next week. <br /> City Manager Everett advised that staff would look into allegations of <br /> threatening acts by one of the male protesters.
