October 17, 2016 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15526 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY APPROVING THE TEMPORARY STREET CLOSURES FOR THE <br /> REDWOOD CITY EDUCATION FOUNDATION 'S 2016 OKTOBERUN <br /> HALF MARATHON/5K RUN/WALK FUNDRAISER <br /> WHEREAS , because of the impact that special events have on City streets and <br /> traffic when a full or partial street closure is required for such a special event, the City <br /> Council of the City of Redwood City finds that it is crucial that any such routes be <br /> thoroughly reviewed and analyzed to enable careful planning of such special events in <br /> order to minimize impacts to the general public where such street closures are permitted ; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS , California Vehicle Code Section 21101 (e) authorizes the City to <br /> temporarily close a portion of any street for a local special event when the local authority <br /> determines the closure is necessary for the safety and protection of persons who are to <br /> use that portion of the street during the temporary closing ; and <br /> WHEREAS, after thorough review, analysis, and planning the City Council does <br /> hereby establish the following necessary partial street closures for the Redwood City <br /> Education Foundation's 2016 OktobeRun half marathon/5K run/walk fundraiser. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1 . On Saturday, October, 29th , 2016 , Main Street, Marshall Street, Maple <br /> Street, Veterans Boulevard , and Bair Island Road will be subject to temporary partial <br /> closures between 7 : 00 a. m . and 11 : 00 a. m . in order to allow the Redwood City Education <br /> Foundation's 2016 OktobeRun half marathon/5K run/walk fundraiser event to occur. <br /> ATTY/RESO.0090/CC RESO APPROVING TEMPORARY STREET CLOSURES — OKTOBERUN RESO.
