4/8/02 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14433 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY, RATIFYING WORK COMPLETED <br />BY S.G. BARBER CONSTRUCTION FOR EMERGENCY <br />REPAIRS OF TWO SANITARY SEWER FORCE MAIN <br />BREAKS AND AUTHORIZING PAYMENT THEREOF <br />WHEREAS, on February 12, 2002, a leak was detected in a sanitary sewer force <br />main located along Radio Road in Redwood City; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff directed S.G. Barber Construction to perform the <br />necessary repairs on the Radio Road force main; and <br />WHEREAS, on February 21, 2002, a leak was detected in a sanitary sewer force <br />main located along Redwood Shores Parkway in Redwood City; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff directed S.G. Barber Construction to perform the <br />necessary repairs on the Redwood Shores Parkway force main; and <br />WHEREAS, discharges from sanitary sewer force mains, if not addressed in an <br />urgent manner, may present health and safety risks to residents and wildlife; and <br />WHEREAS, tests conducted after the leaks were detected were negative, <br />indicating that no sewage was discharged into the lagoons, waterways or adjacent <br />catch basins. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That the immediate repair work conducted by S.G. Barber Construction on <br />the sanitary sewer force mains located along Radio Road and Redwood Shores <br />Parkway was necessary to safeguard public health and property. <br />2. That the repair work conducted by S.G. Barber Construction on the <br />sanitary sewer force mains located along Radio Road and Redwood Shores Parkway is <br />hereby ratified and payment is hereby authorized. <br />3.
