Stangel Redwood City <br /> JANUARY 22, 1990 <br /> REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY <br /> Regular Meeting <br /> CALL TO ORDER - 7: 35 p.m., Chairman Greenalch presiding <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES - 12/18/89 <br /> M/S: Stangel/Buchan to accept the subject Minutes as submitted. <br /> Carried by unanimous voice vote. <br /> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> GENERAL <br /> I. Extension of Memorandum of Agreement with the <br /> Innisfree Companies <br /> Report: Community Development Director 1/16/90 <br /> Redevelopment Agency Director Church presented the staff report and described <br /> the relocation program which is part of the Redevelopment Project. <br /> Mayor Greenalch questioned the use of the name Sequoia Station rather than <br /> Gateway as a previous request to rename the area after the Arguello family <br /> was denied. <br /> Redevelopment Agency Director Church advised that only the one project being <br /> approved here will be named Sequoia Station and it is one of many projects to <br /> be developed in the Gateway area which was subsumed within the new Downtown <br /> Redevelopment subarea approved by amendment in December. <br /> Dr. Gil Villareal, 1098 Eden Bower, Redwood City, renewed his request to <br /> honor the Arguello family in the Redevelopment Area. <br /> Redevelopment Agency Director Church advised that the developers and tenants <br /> believed it was not an appropriate name for a commercial venture, but they <br /> are willing to honor the Arguello family in some way in the project area in <br /> the future. <br /> M/S: Stangel/Bury to approve motions la., lb., Ic., and Id. <br /> a.
