1/28/02 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14411 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE <br />EXECUTION OF A CONSTRUCTION GRANT AGREEMENT <br />WITH THE ASSOCIATION OF BAY AREA GOVERNMENTS FOR <br />THE BAY TRAIL PROJECT AT THE BLOMQUIST STREET <br />EXTENSION <br />WHEREAS, on April 9, 2001, the City Council of the City of Redwood City <br />adopted a resolution approving and authorizing the submittal of an application to the <br />San Francisco Bay Trail Project, a non - profit organization administered by the <br />Association of Bay Area Governments, to construct a bicycle /pedestrian facility relating <br />to the Blomquist Street Extension Project; and <br />WHEREAS, on October 9, 2001, the City of Redwood City was notified that a <br />grant of Three Hundred Thousand Dollars ($300,000) had been awarded the City by <br />the San Francisco Bay Trail Project for the Blomquist Street Extension Project; and <br />WHEREAS, prior to the disbursement of grant funds, the City Council must <br />adopt a resolution approving and authorizing the execution of a Construction Grant <br />Agreement (the "Agreement "), a copy of which is on file with the City Clerk's Office, with <br />the Association of Bay Area Governments. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That the Agreement with the Association of Bay Area Governments for the <br />Blomquist Street Bay Trail Project is hereby approved. <br />2. That the City Manager and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed <br />to execute and to attest the Agreement, for and on behalf of the City. <br />3. That the City Manager is hereby designated as the authorized <br />representative for the City to implement the construction of a <br />bicycle /pedestrian facility as part of the Blomquist Street Extension <br />Project. <br />4.
