<br /> · DES:d;~ 09/23/88 (#001/6) <br /> DES: l ~ 09/26/88R <br /> DES:djk 09/26/88RR <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1981 <br /> OR/bOlA L <br /> --------- <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 23.2 AND 23.7 OF THE CODE <br />OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO ENUMERATION OF <br />POSITIONS EXCLUDED FROM COMPETITIVE SERVICE OR MERIT <br />SYSTEM AND ELIGIBLE LISTS, RESPECTIVELY <br />THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. Section 23.2 of the Code of the City of Redwood <br />City is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> "Section 23.2. Scope of Chapter. The provisions of <br />this chapter, and the competitive service or merit system <br />established and administered hereunder, shall apply to all <br />offices, positions and employments in the service of the <br />City except the following, to which said provisions, <br />service, or system shall not apply except, and to the extent <br />otherwise, or to the contrary, expressly provided: <br /> (a) Elective offices or positions. <br /> (b) Positions of appointive boards, commissions and <br /> committees. <br /> (c) The position of: <br /> City Manager <br /> Assistant City Manager <br /> Director of Human Resources-Personnel <br /> Secretary to the City Manager <br /> Confidential Secretary <br /> City Attorney <br /> Senior Assistant City Attorney <br /> Assistant City Attorney <br /> Finance Director <br /> City Clerk <br /> City Engineer <br /> Fire Chief <br /> Police Chief <br /> Library Director <br /> General Services Director <br /> Parks, Recreation and Community Services Director <br /> Community Development Director <br /> 1981 <br /> ."--'." .~. <br />
