<br /> ( ,: sh 10/30/84 <br /> .... , <br /> SWC:sh 6/20/85R <br /> SWC:sh 11/12/85R <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1923 <br /> JAN 6 1986 <br /> ~¡00 <br /> --------- - <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 40.3, 40.4, 40.5, 40.7, <br />40.9, 40.10, 40.11, 40.14 AND 40.15 OF, AND ADDING <br />SECTION 40.4.1 TO CHAPTER 40 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, RELATING TO HISTORIC PRESERVATION <br />THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. Section 40.3 of the Redwood City Code is hereby <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> "Section 40.3. Definitions. The following words and <br />phrases shall have the meaning respectively ascribed to <br />them: <br /> " (a) 'Alteration' means any exterior change or <br /> modification, or private action, of any historic <br /> or cultural resource or of any property located <br /> within a historic district including, but not <br /> limited to, exterior changes to or modifications <br /> of structure, architectural details, or visual <br /> characteristics such as paint color and surface <br /> texture, grading, surface paving, new structures, <br /> cutting or removal of trees and other natural <br /> features, disturbance of archaeological sites or <br /> areas, and the placement or removal of any <br /> exterior objects such as signs, plaques, light <br /> fixtures, street furniture, walls, fences, steps, <br /> paintings, and landscape accessories affecting the <br /> exterior visual qualities of the property. <br /> 'Alteration' may also mean interior changes <br /> necessary to prevent deterioration and decay of <br /> any exterior architectural features. <br /> " (b) 'Commission' means the Planning Commission of the <br /> City of Redwood City. <br /> " (c) 'Committee' means the Historic Resources Advisory <br /> Committee. <br /> " (d) 'Exterior architectural feature' means the <br /> architectural elements embodying style, design, <br /> general arrangement, and components of all of the <br /> outer surfaces of an improvement, including, but <br /> not limited to, the kind, color, and texture of <br /> 19 ~;j <br />1\ <br />... ~~~..- <br />
