RESOLUTION NO. 12109 <br /> DES:djk J2/02/93 (015/37) <br /> o RIG I N A L 12/13/93 <br /> RES 0 L UTI 0 N N O. 12109 <br /> ---------- <br /> RESOLUTION ADOPTING 1994-1999 COMPREHENSIVE HOUSING <br /> AFFORDABILITY STRATEGY ("CHAS" ) AND AUTHORIZING AND <br /> DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY <br /> DOCUMENTS FOR SUBMITTAL THERETO THE DEPARTMENT OF <br /> HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT ("HUD" ) <br /> WHEREAS, Title I of the National Affordable Housing Act (the <br />"Act") established the requirement that States and local <br />governments that apply for direct assistance under certain HUD <br />programs have a CHAS that has been approved by HUD; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Act requires that an application for funding <br />include a certification of consistency with an approved housing <br />strategy for the jurisdiction in which the proposed project will <br />be located; and <br /> WHEREAS, on November 15, 1993, this Council approved said <br />policy to facilitate affordable housing for residents in Redwood <br />City and the implementation thereof; and <br /> WHEREAS, this Council hereby authorizes its submittal to HUD <br />and approves the aforementioned application and authorizes the <br />execution of all documentation pertaining thereto, including all <br />understandings and assurances connected therewith; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. This Council hereby approves and adopts said 1994-1999 <br />CHAS and authorizes its submittal to HUD pursuant to the Act, a <br />copy of which CHAS is on file in the office of the Community <br />Development Department, Housing Division, to which copy reference <br /> .-,.~~ <br />
