Where programs were reviewed and no changes <br />made, the programs were considered to be approved as recommended. <br />PUBLIC SAFETY PROGRAMS (Page 7) <br />City Manager Smith noted that the Weed Control sub - program, <br />heretofore under the Public Works Department, has been <br />recommended to be placed under the jurisdiction of the Fire <br />Department. <br />M /S: Britschgi/ that the 0.5 person for the Weed Control <br />sub - program be removed from the program. <br />The motion died for lack of a second. <br />M /S: Bury /Britschgi to establish the position of Business <br />Manager in the Police Department utilizing an existing sworn <br />officer (lieutenant), and to hire one additional lieutenant. <br />The motion failed by the following roll call vote: <br />Ayes: Britschgi, Bury <br />Noes: Chandler, Greenalch, La Berge, Stangel and Mayor Claire <br />MINUTE BOOK NO. 46 <br />Page No. 321 <br />Budget Session <br />6/26/86 <br />
