""S>£F> <br /> <br />"ILL R;Q)ES <br /> <br />BUDGET STUDY SESS]O~ <br />Municipal Services Center <br /> <br />Budget Study Session <br /> <br />The Council of the City of Redwood City met on this date at 9:00 a.m. <br />with Mayor Stangel presiding in the Municipal Service Center. <br /> <br />Councilmen present: Biagi, Britschgi, Bury, Mosher, Rhodes and <br />Mayor Stangel <br /> <br />Councilmen absent: <br /> <br />Claire <br /> <br />Officials and staff present: Smith, Schricker, Ference, Hildebrand <br />and Addiego, Schroeter, Griffiths, Mott, O'Brien, Bold and others. <br /> <br />PROPOSED ANNUAL BUDGET 1982-83 <br /> <br />Mayor Stangel announced that the Budget will be reviewed in the order <br />presented. <br /> <br />City Manager Smith referred to his Budget message and replied to <br />questions and comment concerning projections. <br /> <br />OPERATIONS PROGRAMS <br /> <br />HUMAN SERVICES (pp. 1-5) <br /> <br />TRAINING FOR PUBLIC SERVICE <br /> <br />HUMAN SERVICES ASSISTANCE <br /> <br />Human Services Coordinator Irizarry presented the report and <br />recommendations of the Housing and Human Concerns Committee <br />(HHCC) of June 15, 1982. <br /> <br />_, <br /> <br />Representative of San Mateo Women's Shelter said that if the <br />$1,000 recommended by HHCC were granted, a staff person could work <br />at Fair Oaks Community Center for one hour per day, as a new <br />service. <br /> <br />Sally Salinas, HHCC member, reported that organizations are <br />attempting to obtain corporation support for human services in <br />view of anticipated cutbacks in City funds. <br /> <br />Mayor Stangel stated that he and Councilman Rhodes are members of <br />the Board of The Salvation Army and will abstain on the vote on <br />that item and requested that it be considered separately. <br /> <br />M/S: Mosher/Bury to approve the recommendation of the Housing and <br />Human Concerns Committee for funding of human services contained in <br />their report of June 15, 1982, omitting The Salvation Army. <br /> <br />The motion failed by majority voice vote, which Mayor Stangel <br />determined to be two ayes and four noes. <br /> <br />M/S: Britschgi/Biagi to approve the recommendation of the City <br />Manager for funding human services as reported by the Housing and <br />Human Concerns Committee in their report of June 15, 1982, <br />omitting The Salvation Army. <br /> <br />Budget Study <br />6/19/82 <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />--..J <br />
