<br />DES:djk DE/04/93 <br /> <br />(084/34) <br /> <br />0 RIG I N A L <br /> <br />6/14/93 <br /> <br />---------- <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />11997 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN <br />CULTURAL DIVERSITY TRAINING PROGRAM <br /> <br />(P.O.S.T. - CERTIFIED) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Police Department of the City of Redwood City <br /> <br />desires to participate in a Cultural Diversity training program <br /> <br />provided by the San Diego Regional Training Center, a P.O. S. T. <br /> <br />(Peace Officers Standards and Training) certified academy; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, such participation advances the qualifications and <br /> <br />expertise of the City's peace offices; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />This <br /> <br />Council <br /> <br />hereby <br /> <br />approves <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />authorizes <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />participation of members of the Police Department to participate <br /> <br />in the cultural diversity training workshops conducted by the San <br /> <br />Diego Regional Training Center, a P.O.S.T. - certified academy. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />This <br /> <br />Council <br /> <br />hereby <br /> <br />approves <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />authorizes <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />expenditure of Twenty-four Thousand Seven Hundred Seventy-five <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />No/100 <br /> <br />Dollars <br /> <br />($24,775.00) <br /> <br />from <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Police <br /> <br />Department's <br /> <br />Training Funds to be used for said program. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to <br /> <br />execute <br /> <br />such purchase <br /> <br />orders <br /> <br />or <br /> <br />other documentation <br /> <br />(in <br /> <br />form <br /> <br />approved by the City Attorney) to effectuate the training program <br /> <br />approved hereby for and on behalf of the City of Redwood City. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />.---_._--_...._..._,...,-".._".."--~-'"-"._"_........,, . <br />
