<br />FXS:dft <br /> <br />À/19/93 (017/33) <br /> <br />0 RIG I N A L <br /> <br />6/7 /93 <br /> <br />---------- <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />11995 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF FIRST <br />AMENDED JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING THE ALCOHOL <br />VIOLATION TEMPORARY AUTHORITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Resolution No. 11738, <br /> <br />adopted April 27, 1992, this Council approved the Joint Powers <br /> <br />Agreement Establishing the Alcohol Violation Temporary Authority; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />it has been determined that it is in the best <br /> <br />interest <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />public <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />provide <br /> <br />alternative <br /> <br />method <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />processing certain persons accused of violation of law based on <br />the use of alcohol in lieu of incarcerating such persons; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Cities and Counties are authorized to contract with <br /> <br />each other for the joint exercise of any common power pursuant to <br /> <br />Government Code Sections 6500 through 6518; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City desires to be a member of the Joint Powers <br /> <br />Agreement with certain cities and the County of San Mateo; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />it has been determined that it is in the best <br /> <br />interests of the City to approve the First Amended Joint Powers <br /> <br />Agreement Establishing the Alcohol Violation Temporary Authority; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS <br /> <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />That certain agreement by and among certain local public <br /> <br />agencies therein specified, entitled "First Amended Joint Powers <br /> <br />Agreement Establishing the Alcohol Violation Temporary Authority" <br />a copy of which agreement is on file in the office of the City <br />
