<br />DES:d-ilc 04/07/93 <br /> <br />(040/27) <br /> <br />a RIG I N A L <br /> <br />4/26/93 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />11970 <br /> <br />---------- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />AGREEMENT FOR PERSONAL SERVICES (UMPIRE SERVICES <br />RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City conducts softball leagues <br /> <br />as <br /> <br />part <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />its <br /> <br />recreational <br /> <br />program <br /> <br />for <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />benefit <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />citizens of the City of Redwood City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />operation of <br /> <br />such <br /> <br />softball <br /> <br />leagues <br /> <br />requires <br /> <br />that umpires be selected, trained and scheduled to officiate at <br /> <br />such softball games; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Peninsula <br /> <br />Sports <br /> <br />Officials <br /> <br />Association <br /> <br />has <br /> <br />represented to the City that it has the personnel qualified to <br /> <br />perform the aforementioned duties and responsibilities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />there <br /> <br />has <br /> <br />been <br /> <br />presented <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />this <br /> <br />Council <br /> <br />an <br /> <br />agreement <br /> <br />by <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />between <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />Redwood <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Peninsula Sports Officials Association for said association to <br /> <br />furnish City with the aforesaid skills and services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the intention and desire of this Council to <br /> <br />approve said agreement and authorize its execution; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OR REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />That <br /> <br />certain <br /> <br />agreement <br /> <br />entitled, <br /> <br />"Agreement <br /> <br />for <br /> <br />Personal <br /> <br />Services", <br /> <br />by <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />between <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />Redwood <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Peninsula Sports Officials Association, a copy of which agreement <br /> <br />is <br /> <br />on <br /> <br />file <br /> <br />in <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />office <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />Clerk, <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />which <br /> <br />copy <br /> <br />reference is hereby made <br /> <br />for the <br /> <br />full particulars thereof, <br /> <br />is <br /> <br />hereby approved, and the City Manager and City Clerk are hereby <br /> <br />.."..........,...,....,.
