<br />0 RIG I N A L <br /> <br />FXS:dft 7/~B/93 (007c/35) <br />8, J/93R <br />8/16l93 <br /> <br />---------- -- <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />12040 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />AGREEMENT WITH REDWOOD CITY PUBLIC LIBRARY SYSTEM <br />FOR PROJECT READ <br /> <br />(F~lILIES IN PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Redwood <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />Public <br /> <br />Library <br /> <br />System <br /> <br />("Contractor") conducts a literacy program for residents of the <br /> <br />City of Redwood City (the "Program"); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Contractor has requested financial assistance in <br /> <br />order to conduct the Program during the fiscal year commencing <br /> <br />July 1, 1993, and ending June 30, 1994; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City has reviewed said request <br /> <br />and desires to allocate to Contractor, the sum of Nine Thousand <br /> <br />Two <br /> <br />Hundred <br /> <br />Five <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />No/IOO <br /> <br />Dollars <br /> <br />($9,205.00) <br /> <br />from <br /> <br />its <br /> <br />Community <br /> <br />Development <br /> <br />Block <br /> <br />Grant <br /> <br />funds <br /> <br />for <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />foregoing <br /> <br />purposes; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an agreement providing for such funding has been <br /> <br />presented to, and reviewed by, this Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the intention and desire of this Council to <br /> <br />approve said agreement and authorize its execution; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />That certain agreement entitled, "Redwood City Main Library <br /> <br />Proj ect Read <br /> <br />(Families <br /> <br />in Partnership Program)", <br /> <br />(form dated <br /> <br />7/27/93), by and between the City of Redwood City and Redwood <br /> <br />City Public Library System, a copy of which agreement is on file <br /> <br />in the office of the City Clerk, <br /> <br />to which copy reference is <br /> <br />,-,--"'" <br />
