06/10/02 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14 4 r; 0 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY ADOPTING A TEMPORARY RECYCLED WATER INCENTIVE <br />RATE FOR SPECIFIED IRRIGATION WATER METERS IN REDWOOD <br />SHORES <br />WHEREAS, in 1999, in partnership with the South Bayside System Authority <br />wastewater treatment plant, the City of Redwood City embarked on a pilot recycled <br />water project for landscape irrigation uses in the eastern portion of Redwood Shores; <br />and <br />WHERAS, in the year 2000, the City successfully utilized recycled water for <br />landscape irrigation uses on eight (8) City -owned and maintained landscape sites; and <br />WHEREAS, in year 2001, the Pescadero Apartments property was added to the <br />Redwood City sites in order to bring public confidence about the safe and effective use <br />of recycled water; and <br />WHEREAS, on May 15, 2002, the South Bayside System Authority Commission <br />adopted a policy to provide a limited amount of recycled water in 2002 and 2003, and <br />adopted a wholesale rate for recycled water that recovers their direct production costs, <br />which rate is $.80 per 100 cubic feet; and <br />WHEREAS, four (4) additional private sites have been identified by staff to <br />receive recycled water which sites are described as follows: <br />➢ California Seacrest Home Owners Association (full site) <br />➢ The Pointe Business Center (full site) <br />➢ Harbor Court Home Owners Association (full site) <br />➢ The Cove Home Owners Association (full site). <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />The City of Redwood City hereby adopts a temporary one -year "Recycled Water <br />Incentive Rate" for water consumed through specific irrigation meters at the four <br />additional sites as hereinabove described. <br />F:Atty /Reso /Reso.1310 <br />060502 <br />
