<br />0 RIG I N A L <br /> <br />DES:d-u.. 02/12/93 <br /> <br />(049/34) <br />2/22/93 <br /> <br />---------- <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />11942 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING PURCHASE OF COMPUTER-BASED <br />EMERGENCY RESPONSE MAPPING SYSTEM AND AUTHORIZING <br />EXECUTION OF PURCHASE DOCUMENTS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2.76 of the Redwood City Code, <br /> <br />this Council has <br /> <br />suspended the requirements of Article VII of <br /> <br />Chapter 2 of the Code of the City of Redwood City relating to <br /> <br />competitive bidding for the hereinafter described purchase; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Redwood <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />Fire <br /> <br />Department <br /> <br />requires <br /> <br />a <br /> <br />computer-based <br /> <br />emergency <br /> <br />response <br /> <br />mapping <br /> <br />system <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />meet <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />needs of emergency response personnel; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />hereinafter <br /> <br />described <br /> <br />mapping <br /> <br />system <br /> <br />is <br /> <br />consistent with the response maps previously completed for the <br /> <br />Redwood Shores area as well as other neighboring cities, which <br /> <br />will greatly <br /> <br />facilitate <br /> <br />overlapping <br /> <br />response <br /> <br />into <br /> <br />the various <br /> <br />jurisdictions, and is available from a single source only; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />this Council desires <br /> <br />to approve the purchase of <br /> <br />said mapping system in an amount not to exceed Fifteen Thousand <br /> <br />Dollars ($15,000.00); <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />This <br /> <br />Council <br /> <br />hereby <br /> <br />approves <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />purchase <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />a <br /> <br />computer-based emergency response mapping system for the Redwood <br /> <br />City Fire Department from Lynx Technologies in an amount not to <br /> <br />exceed Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000.00). <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to <br /> <br />execute all documents required in connection with the purchase <br /> <br />authorized herein (in form approved by the City Attorney) for and <br /> <br />on behalf of the City of Redwood City. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />-,.-.., ..,..--...-...-...- ....... <br />
