ORIGINAL AGREEMENT FOR SERVICE BETWEEN THE Redwood City School District AN D The City of Redwood City ~ This agreement is made on thiS/(P day of M~, 1998 by and between the Redwood City Elementary School District (RCSD) and The City of Redwood City (CONTRACTOR). WHEREAS, the RCSD desires to obtain services to coordinate and implement the Early Childhood Intervention Project, a collaborative project of RCSD, Redwood City 2000, the City of Redwood City and the Redwood City Healthy Start Network funded by the Peninsula Partnership for Children, Youth and Families. WHEREAS, CONTRACTOR desires to provide coordination and support to the RCSD. NOW, THEREFORE, THE PARTIES AGREE AS FOLLOWS: 1. SERVICES CONTRACTOR agrees to provide professional services to the RCSD in accordance with the terms and conditions of this agreement. 2. SCOPE OF SERVICES The CONTRACTOR agrees the provide contract services as needed and subject to availability to provide up to 10 hours per week of coordination for the Early Childhood Intervention Project. Coordination services to be performed include: . Identify, develop and integrate the implementation of Kindergarten readiness activities into existing community programs. Serve as liaison between the Redwood City School District and community-based preschool programs to facilitate the alignment of programs. Identify and communicate training opportunities to build the capacity of preschool providers specifically in the area of Kindergarten readiness. Expand parent/child classes offered through the Redwood City Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department. Identify and assess opportunities to expand readiness activities through other venues in the community such as churches and community organizations. . . . . . 3. USE OF SUBCONTRACTORS CONTRACTOR shall not assign this Agreement or any portion thereof to a third party without the prior written consent of the District.
