<br />.JAL: dft <br /> <br />6/11/91 (065/29) <br /> <br />0 RIG I N A L <br /> <br />6/24/91 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />11541 <br /> <br />---------- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />AGREEMENT WITH LIPMAN INSURANCE ADMINI STRATORS , INC., <br />FOR SET-UP AND ADMINISTRATION OF A FLEXIBLE BENEFIT <br />PLAN FOR CITY EMPLOYEES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City, a municipal corporation <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />State <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />California, <br /> <br />(IICity") , <br /> <br />has <br /> <br />established <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />administers a flexible benefits plan for its employees; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Lipman <br /> <br />Insurance Administrators, <br /> <br />Inc. <br /> <br />("Cont.ract <br /> <br />Administrator"), is presently administering the flexible benefit <br /> <br />plan for the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />City hereby finds that Contract Administrator is <br /> <br />experienced and competent to administer a flexible benefit plan; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Contract Administrator has represented to City that <br /> <br />it. <br /> <br />is <br /> <br />qualified <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />willing <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />continue <br /> <br />t.o <br /> <br />administ.er <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />flexible benefits plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Contract Administ.rator currently has t.o enter into <br /> <br />an <br /> <br />agreement whereby <br /> <br />t.he <br /> <br />Contract <br /> <br />Administ.rator <br /> <br />continues <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />administrate the flexible benefits plan for City's employees; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />there <br /> <br />has <br /> <br />been <br /> <br />presented <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />this <br /> <br />Council <br /> <br />for <br /> <br />approval an agreement between the City of Redwood City and Lipman <br /> <br />Insurance Administrators, Inc., retroactive from August 1, 1990, <br /> <br />and effective until July 31, 1991, and it is the intention and <br /> <br />desire of this Council to approve the same; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />
