<br />ùES:djk 02/06/91 <br /> <br />(058/28) <br /> <br />0 RIG I N A L <br /> <br />2/11/91 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />11474 <br /> <br />---------- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION DECLARING WEEDS, DIRT, RUBBISH AND/OR RANK <br />GROWTHS ON CERTAIN PROPERTIES IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE; AND SETTING HEARING ON <br />OBJECTIONS FOR MARCH 11, 1991 <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />This this Council, upon evidence presented by the City <br /> <br />Manager, <br /> <br />has <br /> <br />determined <br /> <br />that <br /> <br />weeds, <br /> <br />rubbish, <br /> <br />dirt <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />rank <br /> <br />growths (hereinafter collectively, IIweeds") do exist upon private <br /> <br />property within those certain areas of the City of Redwood City <br /> <br />delineated <br /> <br />upon <br /> <br />Exhibit <br /> <br />"A" , <br /> <br />attached <br /> <br />hereto <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />by <br /> <br />this <br /> <br />reference incorporated herein, <br /> <br />and in and upon the sidewalks, <br /> <br />parkways, <br /> <br />streets, <br /> <br />avenues, <br /> <br />roadways, <br /> <br />boulevards, <br /> <br />highways and <br /> <br />alleys likewise delineated and situate within the City of Redwood <br /> <br />City. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />This Council does hereby: <br /> <br />(a) declare such weeds to be <br /> <br />a public nuisance, <br /> <br />(b) direct that every property owner, lessee <br /> <br />or occupant of buildings, grounds or lots within the aforesaid <br /> <br />areas of the City of Redwood City shall destroy or remove the <br /> <br />said weeds, and (c) declare that unless said nuisance be abated <br /> <br />without delay by the destruction or removal of such weeds, the <br /> <br />Council of the City of Redwood City shall cause said nuisance to <br /> <br />be abated and shall cause the expense of such abatement to be <br /> <br />assessed <br /> <br />upon <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />lots <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />lands <br /> <br />from which, <br /> <br />and/or <br /> <br />in <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />abutting half of the street in front, and alley, if any, in the <br /> <br />rear thereof, from which such weeds shall have been destroyed or <br /> <br />removed, in accordance with and in the manner provided by Article <br /> <br />"--""-UU"'--"'---""--"" <br />
