M. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />City Manager Dimmitt, Mrs." L. A. McAtee, Recreational <br />Director Alfred Morton, Wayne Mîllington, James P. <br />Hagan, K. W. Van Gundy, '-and Mildred J. Hoenck~ <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />Mr. Dimmitt briefly explained the purpose of the <br />Commission, and then called on Mr. Morton to tell the Com- <br />~ssion of his ideas and plans and what the Commission could do <br />to be of assistance to him. <br /> <br />Various suggestions w~e made and tentative future <br />plans were discussed such as'a municipal swimming pool, and <br />wading pool for small children, at the Yacht Harbor, creating <br />the necessary facilities' at the Emerald Lake Bowl for an open <br />air theatre, creating playgrounds and parks "in various sections <br />of the City, additional tennis courts at Mezes Plaza, enlarging <br />the grandstand at the soft ball park, the City.s acquiring a <br />loud speaker and public address-system, etc. - <br /> <br />Mr. Dimmitt suggested that the group elect a Chair- <br />man. Mr. Van Gundy nominated Mr. Millington: Mr. Hagan seconded <br />the motion; and Mr. Mîllington was unanimously elected. Miss <br />Hoenck was elected Secretary. <br /> <br />It was decidèd that the Commission should meet on <br />the second Friday of each month, the next meeting to be No- <br />vember 12, and the meetings to "be called at 7:30 rather than <br />8:00. - <br /> <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the meeting <br />adjourned at 9:40. <br /> <br />Mildred J.
