DES:c"k 11/12/92 (021/34) <br /> O R I G I N A L 11/23/92 <br /> R E S O L U T I O N NO. 11889 <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING PURCHASE OF 30 PORTABLE POLICE <br /> RADIOS UNDER THE COOPERATIVE PURCHASE PROVISIONS OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY CODE SECTION 2 . 80 AND AUTHORIZING <br /> EXECUTION OF PURCHASE DOCUMENTS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2 . 76 of the Redwood City Code, <br /> this Council has suspended the requirements of Article VII of <br /> Chapter 2 of the Code of the City of Redwood City relating to <br /> competitive bidding for the hereinafter described purchase; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Police Department requires 30 portable police <br /> radios (the "Equipment") to replace current radios now in use; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS , the Police Department has determined that the most <br /> economical method of purchasing the Equipment is pursuant to an <br /> agreement between the City of San Diego and Motorola <br /> Communication and Electronics , Inc . under the provisions of the <br /> Redwood City Code authorizing inter-agency cooperative purchases, <br /> upon a finding that the City of San Diego makes such purchases <br /> under competitive bidding requirements substantially equivalent <br /> to those of this City; and <br /> WHEREAS, Redwood City Code Section 2 . 80 establishes a <br /> procedure for purchasing materials, equipment or supplies through <br /> bidding procedures implemented by other public agencies; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1 .
