<br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />AGREEMENT <br /> <br />La Raza Centro Legal <br /> <br />Homelessness Prevention and Eviction Defense Project <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this J:3- day of ~LbJ <br />2005, by and between the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a charter city and municipal <br />corporation of the State of California ("City") and La Raza Centro Legal, a California <br /> <br />nonprofit organization ("Contractor") (collectively the "Parties"). <br />WITNESSETH: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Contractor provides a homelessness prevention and eviction <br />defense project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Contractor has requested financial assistance in order to conduct <br />the program described in the attached Exhibit B (Contract Objectives), which is <br /> <br />incorporated herein by this reference (the "Program"), for residents of City during the <br />fiscal year commencing July 1, 2005, and ending June 30, 2006; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City Council has reviewed Contractor's request; finds that providing <br />the financial assistance will benefit Redwood City and its citizens; and, desires to <br /> <br />allocate to Contractor the sum of Twenty Thousand and no/100 Dollars ($20,000). <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the Parties hereby agree as follows: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. <br /> <br />City will allocate to Contractor the sum of <br /> <br />Twenty Thousand and no/100 Dollars ($20,000) for exclusive use by Contractor during <br />the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2005, and ending June 30, 2006, solely for the <br /> <br />purposes described in Paragraph 2. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />USE OF FUNDS. <br /> <br />Contractor will use the funds provided pursuant to <br /> <br />Paragraph 1 solely for the Program purposes described in Exhibits A (Budget) & B. <br /> <br />CDBG/DJT.cje <br /> <br />7/19/2005 <br />
