9/11/00 <br />0RIGI ?1AL <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14044 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION <br />OF AGREEMENT FOR HOMELESS PREVENTION AND <br />EVICTION DEFENSE PROJECT <br />(LA RAZA CENTRO LEGAL, INC.) <br />WHEREAS, La Raza Centro Legal, Inc. (Contractor) conducts a homeless <br />prevention and eviction defense project for residents of the City of Redwood City (the <br />Program); and <br />WHEREAS, Contractor has requested financial assistance in order to conduct <br />the Program during the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2000, and ending June 30, 2001; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City has reviewed said request and desires to <br />allocate to Contractor, the sum of Twenty Thousand and no /100 Dollars ($20,000.00) <br />from its Community Development Block Grant funds for the foregoing purposes; and <br />WHEREAS, an agreement providing for such funding has been presented to, and <br />reviewed by, this Council; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the intention and desire of this Council to approve said <br />agreement and authorize its execution; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />That certain agreement entitled, "Agreement for Homeless Prevention and <br />Eviction Defense Project," (form dated 8/15/00), by and between the City of Redwood <br />
