0 R I G I N - A L 9/11/00 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1Aa42 <br />RESOLUTION FINDING AND DECLARING CONTINUING NEED <br />FOR ORDINANCE REGULATING ON- PREMISES ADVERTISING <br />THAT IS MORE RESTRICTIVE THAN EXISTING LAW <br />WHEREAS, Business and Professions Code Section 5491.1 provides that <br />any city or county adopting or amending any ordinance or regulation that <br />regulates or prohibits the use of any on- premises advertising display that is more <br />restrictive than existing law, shall include provisions in that ordinance or <br />regulation for the identification and inventorying of all displays within its territorial <br />limits that are determined to be illegal or abandoned pursuant to the law that is in <br />effect prior to the adoption of, or amendment to, the ordinance or regulation; and <br />WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2161 entitled, "Ordinance Repealing Article II <br />Chapter 3 of the Code of the City of Redwood City Relating to Signs and Adding <br />Article II, Chapter 3 to the Code of the City of Redwood City Relating to Signs ", <br />adopted June 28, 1999, and Ordinance No. 2184 entitled, "Ordinance Adding <br />Table 1 to Article II, Chapter 3, of the Code of the City of Redwood City, and <br />Amending Section 3.114 of Said Code, Relating to Combined Area of Wall Signs <br />and Unauthorized Locations of Signs, Respectively ", adopted January 10, 2000, <br />(collectively, 'Redwood City Sign Ordinance ") prohibit the use of any on- <br />premises advertising displays more restrictive than existing law; and <br />Reso -981 <br />DES:djk 1 <br />F: SharedkShareMRedwooMCouncil <br />08/22/00 <br />
