Refuse Collection Rate Increase <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING MONTHLY CHARGES FOR THE MAKING OF SANITARY INSPECTIONS <br />AND FOR THE COLLECTION AND REMOVAL OF REFUSE IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />Report of City Manager and Acting Director of Finance 9/15/82. <br /> <br />In response to question, Acting Finance Director Becker stated that Price <br />Waterhouse had been selected to conduct the refuse rate analysis by the cities <br />in San Mateo County served by BFI (Browning Ferris Industries), because of <br />their experience in that particular field. Mr. Becker said that the tests are <br />based on reasonable costs, and if operating costs are found to be within the <br />norm, then the ratio is applied and rates adjusted to maintain the ratio <br />according to the agreement with BFI. <br /> <br />In response to question, City Manager Smith stated that the Price Waterhouse <br />report of August 5, 1982 upon which the recommended rate increase is based was <br />placed in the Council Study for review. <br /> <br />MIS: Britschgi/Claire to continue consideration of the proposed refuse <br />collection rate increase for one week until September 27, 1982 to allow <br />adequate time for review of backup materials. <br /> <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 82-157 <br /> <br />t{/; Reg.Mtg. <br />". f/9/20/82 <br />/ Page 1 <br />
