The meeting was not <br />recorded due to equipment failure. <br /> <br />ITEM 1 - CONCESSION PERMIT FOR RED MORTON COMMUNITY PARK <br /> <br />Director Griffiths reviewed the request for a concession permit and <br />the material that had been mailed to the Commisisoners. He explained <br />that the increased maintenance due to litter and debris was the <br />Department's greatest concern, however, in the past one day permits <br />to specific groups have been granted. Mr. Gonzales stated he had <br />obtained all the necessary permits from the other city departments, <br />although wanted to sell in Red Morton Community Park and therefore <br />would need a permit from the Parks, Recreation and Community Services <br />Department. He said he planned to pick up the litter on the <br />following Monday after each weekend. Mr. Gonzales felt the litter <br />problem already existed because of the ice cream trucks and <br /> <br />. . <br />plcnlcers. <br /> <br />Commissioner Buchan asked if Mr. Gonzales would be able to meet the <br />city's insurance requirements. Mr. Gonzales replied he would have to <br />talk with his broker. The possibility of a conditional permit was <br />discussed. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Nordness/Buchan made the motion to deny the concession <br />permit to sell hot dogs in Red Morton Community Park. <br /> <br />Mr. Gonzales asked that if the policy on concession permits changed <br />that he be contacted first. <br /> <br />Announcements <br /> <br />The. final draft on the history of the Parks, Recreation and Community <br />Services Department has been completed by Oral History History & <br /> <br />
