FXS:cb 04/01/92 (025/31) <br /> ORIGINAL 4/27/92 <br /> R E S O L U T I O N NO. 11738 <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF JOINT <br /> POWERS AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING THE ALCOHOL VIOLATION <br /> TEMPORARY AUTHORITY <br /> WHEREAS , it has been determined that it is in the best <br /> interest of the public to provide alternative method of <br /> processing certain persons accused of violation of law based on <br /> the use of alcohol in lieu of incarcerating such persons; and <br /> WHEREAS , Cities and Counties are authorized to contract with <br /> each other for the joint exercise of any common power pursuant to <br /> Government Code Sections 6500 through 6518 ; and <br /> WHEREAS , the City desires to be a member of the Joint Powers <br /> Agreement with certain cities and the County of San Mateo. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS : <br /> That certain agreement by and among certain local public <br /> agencies therein specified, entitled "Joint Powers Agreement <br /> Establishing the Alcohol Violation Temporary Authority" a copy of <br /> which agreement is on file in the office of the City Clerk, and <br /> to which copy reference is hereby made for the full particulars <br /> thereof, is hereby approved, and the City Manager and City Clerk <br /> are hereby authorized and directed to execute, and to attest <br /> thereto, respectively, said agreement for and on behalf of the <br /> City of Redwood City. <br />
