<br />MS R : j p : 7/18/77 <br /> <br />0 R DIN AN C E <br /> <br />No.1 72 9 <br /> <br />--------- <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br />Nay 28 1977 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLE VII (COMMENCING AT <br />SECTION 9.70) OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY, AND ADDING ARTICLE VII (COMMENC- <br />ING AT SECTION 9.70) TO CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF <br />THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, RELATING TO THE ESTABLISH- <br />MENT OF REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS FOR THE INSTALLA- <br />TION AND MAINTENANCE OF HEATING, VENTILLATING, COM- <br />FORT COOLING AND REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS, INCLUDING <br />THE ADOPTION BY REFERENCE OF THE "UNIFORM MECHANICAL <br />CODE, 1976 EDITION," AS PUBLISHED BY THE INTERNATIONAL <br />ASSOCIATION OF PLUMBING AND MECHANICAL OFFICIALS AND <br />THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF BUILDING OFFICIALS <br /> <br />THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. <br /> <br />Article VII (commencing at Section 9.70) of <br /> <br />Chapter 9 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby <br /> <br />repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. <br /> <br />Article VII (commencing at Section 9.70) is <br /> <br />hereby added to Chapter 9 of the Code of the City of Redwood <br /> <br />City to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Article VII. <br /> <br />Mechanical Code <br /> <br />"Section 9.70 (a) <br /> <br />Pursuant to Section 50022.1, <br /> <br />et seq., of the Government Code and Section 15 of the <br /> <br />Charter of the City of Redwood City, the 'Uniform <br /> <br />Mechanical Code, 1976 Edition,' as published by the <br /> <br />International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical <br /> <br />Officials and the International Conference of Build- <br /> <br />ing Officials, is hereby adopted and shall be in <br /> <br />effect within the City of Redwood City to the same <br /> <br />extent as if set out in full herein except as expressly <br /> <br />amended by the provisions of this article. <br /> <br />"(b) <br /> <br />In the event of any conflict between the <br /> <br />provisions of the Uniform Mechanical Code, 1976 <br /> <br />Edition, hereinafter referred to as the mechanical <br /> <br />code, and the provisions of this chapter, the pro- <br /> <br />visions of this chapter, shall apply." <br /> <br />1 7:¿ 9 <br />
