MS R : j p : 7/18/77 0 R DIN AN C E No.1 72 9 --------- ORIGINAL Nay 28 1977 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLE VII (COMMENCING AT SECTION 9.70) OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AND ADDING ARTICLE VII (COMMENC- ING AT SECTION 9.70) TO CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, RELATING TO THE ESTABLISH- MENT OF REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS FOR THE INSTALLA- TION AND MAINTENANCE OF HEATING, VENTILLATING, COM- FORT COOLING AND REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS, INCLUDING THE ADOPTION BY REFERENCE OF THE "UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 1976 EDITION," AS PUBLISHED BY THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PLUMBING AND MECHANICAL OFFICIALS AND THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF BUILDING OFFICIALS THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Article VII (commencing at Section 9.70) of Chapter 9 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby repealed. SECTION 2. Article VII (commencing at Section 9.70) is hereby added to Chapter 9 of the Code of the City of Redwood City to read as follows: "Article VII. Mechanical Code "Section 9.70 (a) Pursuant to Section 50022.1, et seq., of the Government Code and Section 15 of the Charter of the City of Redwood City, the 'Uniform Mechanical Code, 1976 Edition,' as published by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials and the International Conference of Build- ing Officials, is hereby adopted and shall be in effect within the City of Redwood City to the same extent as if set out in full herein except as expressly amended by the provisions of this article. "(b) In the event of any conflict between the provisions of the Uniform Mechanical Code, 1976 Edition, hereinafter referred to as the mechanical code, and the provisions of this chapter, the pro- visions of this chapter, shall apply." 1 7:¿ 9
