<br />MSR: jp: 6/l3/77R <br /> <br />--------- <br /> <br />1708 <br /> <br />ORIG!NAL <br />JUN 2 0 1971 <br /> <br />0 R DIN A N C E <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF CERTAIN CITY- <br />OWNED REAL PROPERTY IN VICINITY OF VETERANS <br />BOULEVARD AND WALNUT STREET <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council on May 23, 1977, conducted a public <br /> <br />auction of the hereinafter described real property in the <br /> <br />vicinity of Veterans Boulevard and Walnut Street pursuant to <br /> <br />the provisions of Section 3-1/2 of the Charter of the City of <br /> <br />Redwood City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, bids were received during said public auction <br /> <br />for the purchase of said property; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an award was made to United Artists Theatre <br /> <br />Circuit, Inc. <br /> <br />(made by A. C. Childhouse, Senior Vice-President) <br /> <br />for the sum of One Hundred Ten Thousand and No/lOa Dollars <br /> <br />($110,000.00), which sum exceeds ninety percent of the <br /> <br />appraised value of said real property as determined by the <br /> <br />Assessor of the City of Redwood City; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />United Artists Theatre Circuit, Inc. is the highest <br /> <br />responsible bidder for the purchase of the hereinafter des- <br /> <br />cribed real property in the vicinity of Veterans Boulevard <br /> <br />and Walnut Street and the sale of said real property to United <br /> <br />Artists Theatre Circuit, Inc. is authorized by this Council. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />The real property authorized to be sold to United <br /> <br />Artists Theatre Circuit, Inc. is described as follows: <br /> <br />Being a portion of land described in that certain <br />Grant Deed from John E. Layng, et al., to the City <br />of Redwood City, filed in the office of the Recorder <br />of San Mateo County, State of California on February <br />16, 1949, in Volume 1624 of Official Records at Page <br />427, and that lies southwesterly of that certain <br />2.225 acre parcel of land conveyed by Grant Deed to <br /> <br />I 708 <br />
