MSR:sh:llj16j76 ORIGINAL JAN 3 197,7 0 R DIN A N C E ~ 9.. ~ --------- ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 20.108 AND 20.109 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; RELATING TO ESTABLISHMENT OF ZONES FOR, AND MARKING OF CURBS DESIGNATING, HANDICAPPED PARKING THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 20.108 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 20.108. (a) The city manager is hereby authorized to determine and to mark loading zones, passenger loading zones and handicapped parking zones as follows: (1) (2) At any place in any business district. Elsewhere in front of the entrance to any place of business or in front of any hall or place used for the purpose of public assembly. (b) In no event shall more than one-half of the total curb length in any block be reserved for loading zone pur- poses. (c) Loading zones shall be indicated by a yellow paint line stenciled with black letters, 'LOADING ONLY', upon the top of all curbs within such zones. (d) Passenger loading zones shall be indicated by a white paint line stenciled with black letters, 'PASSENGER LOADING ONLY', upon the top of all curbs within such zones. (e) Handicapped parking zones shall be indicated by a blue paint line stenciled with white letters, 'HANDICAPPED PARKING ONLY', upon the top of all curbs within such zones." SECTION 2. Section 20.109 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 20.109. The city manager is hereby authorized, subject to the provisions and limitations of this chapter, to place, and when required herein shall place, the following curb markings to indicate parking or standing regulations, and such curb markings shall have the meanings herein set forth: (a) Red shall mean no stopping, standing or parking at any time except as permitted by the Vehicle Code of this state, and except that a bus may stop in a red zone marked or signed as a bus zone. 1689
