RJC.ek 4/17/64-7 <br />,Y <br />RE S O L U T I O N N 0. <br />RESOLUTION FINDING THAT PUBLIC INTEREST REQUIRES <br />CONTINUATION OF LOCAL BUS TRANSPORTATION; APPROVING <br />AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT PROVIDING <br />FOR SUBSIDY OF AND CONTINUATION OF SUCH SERVICE <br />FOR PERIOD OF 30 DAYS; AND, APPROPRIATING $1,100 <br />THEREFOR <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />That the public interest requires the continuation of local <br />public bus transportation at the present level of scheduling and <br />routes at a fare not to exceed 254� per passenger for a period of <br />thirty days, in order to permit the City to investigate various <br />long term solutions to local transportation problems; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: <br />That an agreement providing for continuation of such service <br />by the Peninsula Transit Lines for a period of thirty days over <br />presently existing routes and at a level of current scheduling <br />for fares in the sum of 256, per passenger, in consideration of <br />payment by the City to Peninsula Transit Lines of a sum equivalent <br />to said company's net loss for said period attributable to <br />local Redwood City service, not to exceed the sum of $50.00 per <br />day for each day of operation, has been presented to and reviewed <br />by this Council, and is hereby approved, and the Mayor is hereby <br />authorized to execute the same for and on behalf of the City of <br />Redwood City; and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: <br />That the sum of one thousand one hundred dollars ($1,100.00) <br />is hereby appropriated from the unbudgeted unappropriated balance <br />of the General Fund for the purpose of subsidizing local bus <br />transportation service in the City of Redwood City for thirty <br />calendar days, at a sum not to exceed $50.00 per day for each day <br />of operation. <br />s <br />
