12/19/2005 <br />ORIGINAL <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14683 <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING URBAN WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN <br />WHEREAS, the Urban Water Management Planning Act ( "Act "; Water Code <br />Section 10610 et seq.) requires that every supplier providing water for municipal <br />purposes to more than 3,000 customers or supplying more than 3,000 acre feet of water <br />annually shall prepare an Urban Water Management Plan ( "Plan "), an important <br />objective of which is to provide for conservation and efficient use of water; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City is an urban supplier of water providing <br />water to over 83,000 residents and businesses; and <br />WHEREAS, the Act requires that the Plan shall be updated at least once every <br />five years; and <br />WHERAS, the City of Redwood City has prepared and circulated for public <br />review a draft Urban Water Management Plan, and duly noticed public hearing <br />regarding said Plan was held by the City Council on December 19, 2005. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That certain Plan entitled, "City of Redwood City, California, Urban Water <br />Management Plan 2005," a copy of which is on file in the offices of the Public Works <br />Services Department, to which copy reference is hereby made for the full particulars <br />thereof, is hereby and adopted. <br />2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file the aforesaid Plan <br />with the California Department of Water Resources within 30 days from adoption of this <br />resolution. <br />3.
