<br />MINUTE ORDER <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> <br />January 9. 2006 <br />MO. 06-13 <br /> <br />CITY CLERK DEPARTMENT <br />Redwood City <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />January 10, 2006 <br /> <br />Attention: <br /> <br />City Attorney <br />Police Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: The Proposed Use of 2005 Citizens Option for Public Safety <br />(COPS) funds of $109,639.00 by the Redwood City Police <br />Department <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM: 9A (706) <br /> <br />Meeting of the Council of the City of Redwood City on January 9, 2006. <br /> <br />Present: Council Members Aguirre, Bain, Hartnett, Howard, Vice Mayor Foust, <br />and Mayor Pierce <br /> <br />Absent: Council Member Ira <br /> <br />The following motion was made, carried and entered on the Minutes <br /> <br />MIS HartnettlBain that after completion of the public hearing, approve by <br />motion, the Police Chiefs recommendation to dedicate $102,673.00 of <br />the Citizens Option for Public Safety (COPS) fund to the salaries and <br />benefits of the new police officer positions approved by City Council <br />pursuant to the staffing study of 1997. The Police Chief recommends that <br />the remaining funds, $6966.00 be dedicated to the purchase of SWAT <br />related law enforcement equipment. <br /> <br />The motion passed by a majority roll call vote. <br /> <br /> <br />.
