- ORIGINAL MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITIES OF BELMONT, BRISBANE, MILLBRAE, REDWOOD CITY, SAN CARLOS AND SAN MATEO, AND THECOUNTY OFSAN MATEO AND AT&T BROADBAND 1. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is between AT&T Broadband and the following communities: City of Belmont City of Brisbane City of Millbrae City of Redwood City City of San Carlos City of San Mateo County of San Mateo It is mutually understood and agreed that the above communities (hereinafter the Local Franchising Authorities, or LFA's), may delegate the authority to execute and implement this MOU to the San Mateo County Telecommunications Authority ($AMCAT). 1. As a commitment to support Public, Educational and Governmental (PEG) Access cable programming, AT&T Broadband agrees to lease one "dark" fiber to the LFA's that will be capable of simultaneous interactive transmission of video signals with the addition of appropriate activation and terminal equipment (not provided by AT&T Broadband). The fiber will be used solely for the purpose of transmitting PEG Access signals. The fiber will provide a continuous run from the Peninsula TV studio at the College of San Mateo to the AT&T node presently located at Glendora Drive, and from that node to a fiber provided by RCN Corp. 2. The lease cost to the LFA's for the optical fiber shall be One Dollar ($1.00) per year. 3. The term of the lease shall commence on the date of execution of this Memorandum by AT&T Broadband and the LFA's authorized representative. The term of the lease shall extend through the last day of the remaining terms of the cable franchises currently held by AT&T Broadband and their assigns, successors in interest or any other company acquiring AT&T or is assets, with the LFA's, and any extensions thereto. 4.
