12/10/2018 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15723 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY RECITING THE FACTS AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE <br />STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY ON NOVEMBER 6, 2018 <br />WHEREAS, a Statewide General Election was held and conducted in the City of <br />Redwood City, County of San Mateo, State of California on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, <br />as required by law for the purpose of electing three members of the City Council and to <br />vote on measures Measure RR, Measure DD, Measure 00; and <br />WHEREAS, notice of the election was given in the time, form and manner <br />prescribed by law, vote centers were properly established, election officers were <br />appointed and in all cases said election was held and conducted and votes were cast, <br />received and canvassed and the returns made and declared in the time, form and manner <br />required by the provisions of Elections Code of the State of California for holding of <br />elections in general law and charter cities; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution Nos. 15682 (Calling the for an election on <br />November 6, 2018 and requesting election services from San Mateo County) adopted on <br />June 25, 2018 and Resolutions 15692 (Essential Services Protection Tax Measure), <br />15693 (Cannabis Business Tax Measure) and 15694 (Charter Amendments Measure) <br />adopted on July 23, 2018, the County of San Mateo Elections Office canvassed the <br />returns of said election and has certified the results, which have been received and are <br />attached and made part hereof as Exhibit A. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. Attached hereto as Exhibit A is the Certificate from the Chief Elections <br />Officer and the Completed Canvass of the Vote and the Certified Election Results. <br />2. The number of votes given in the City to each of the persons voted for at <br />the election for the respective offices for which the persons were candidates and for and <br />against the measures are as listed in the attached Exhibit A. <br />3.
