<br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />AGREEMENT WITH <br />MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION OF SAN MATEO COUNTY <br />FOR FUNDING TO ACQUIRE LAND AT <br />104 & 112 CEDAR STREET <br /> <br />J TH IS AG RE EMENT. made and enlered i nlo Ih is ßIA day of <br />'¿IV ,2006, by and between the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a <br />municipal corporation of the State of California, ("City"), and Mental Health <br />Association of San Mateo County, a California nonprofit corporation, <br />("Contractor"). <br /> <br />WITNESSETH: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 24 of the Code of Federal Regulations, <br />Part 92 for the HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME), funding <br />assistance may be used to fund eligible activities to be carried out by private <br />non-profit entities or public agencies which are duly organized to undertake <br />affordable ownership housing development; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City's Consolidated Plan and Housing Element goals <br />include expanding the supply of affordable ownership housing for Redwood City <br />households; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mental Health Association of San Mateo County has applied <br />for funding assistance under the HOME Program and Agency Housing Fund to <br />acquire a parcels of land in the City of Redwood City; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mental Health Association of San Mateo County has an <br />option to purchase 104 & 112 Cedar Street, (the "Property"), land located in <br />Census Tract 6102, owned by the seller in the City of Redwood City, California; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City's Housing & Human Concerns Committee has <br />recommended that the Council allocate Seven Hundred Forty Eight Thousand, <br />Four Hundred Ninety Three and 67/100 Dollars ($748,493.67) in Community <br />Development Block Grant and HOME funds toward the acquisition of the <br />property, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mental Health Association of San Mateo County has agreed <br />to pursue property acquisition for the purpose of building affordable housing in <br />the City of Redwood City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following exhibits are attached hereto and incorporated <br />by reference herein: <br /> <br />1:2006 STAFF REPORTS/04-2006/ACTION PLAN ADOPT/Cedar St Acquisition <br />
