04/22/2019 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15752 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF STOP SIGNS ON MAPLE <br />STREET AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH STAMBAUGH STREET <br />WHEREAS, the California Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (Manual) has <br />been adopted by the California Department of Transportation and by the City of Redwood <br />City to provide uniform standards for all traffic control devices; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 213.07 of the Manual states that the use of stop signs should <br />be considered where there have been five or more reported crashes in a 12 -month period <br />that are susceptible to correction by a multi -way stop installation. Such crashes include <br />right -turn and left -turn collisions as well as right-angle collisions; and <br />WHEREAS, an investigation by City staff has confirmed the existence of these <br />conditions at the subject site; and <br />WHEREAS, as the lead agency, the City has determined that the proposed project <br />qualifies for a categorical exemption as a minor alteration to an existing facility under <br />California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines section 15301. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1.
