· 7/12/99 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 13672 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT THE SAN MATEO COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF SUPERVISORS ADOPT AN ORDINANCE REVISING <br /> THE OPERATING HOURS FOR ALL PRACTICE, PATTERN AND <br /> PROFICIENCY FLIGHTS AT THE SAN CARLOS AIRPORT AND <br /> CONDUCT COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE STUDY OF SAN <br /> CARLOS AIRPORT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Redwood City understands that the <br /> Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County at its meeting of July 27, 1999 will be <br /> considering an ordinance to enact regulations affecting the operations of the San <br /> Carlos Airport; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is the Council's understanding that the communities of <br /> Santa Monica and Pompano Beach have enacted curfews which allow practice, <br /> pattern and proficiency flights only during the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., <br /> Monday through Friday; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, adoption of a curfew ordinance will increase the safety of our <br /> residents and increase our residents' enjoyment of their private property in <br /> reasonable peace and quiet in the evenings and on the weekends; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council is very concerned about the impacts of airport <br /> <br /> noise and airport operations in our community; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Reso-702R <br /> F:lShared/RedwoodlCouncil <br /> <br /> FXS:djk <br /> 07/0/799 <br /> 07/13/99 <br /> <br /> <br />
