<br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN REDWOOD CITY 2020, <br />THROUGH ITS FISCAL AGENT, THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AND <br />KAISER PERMANENTE <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered in this .L'.o/A day of <br />~fiF~Ee., , 2006, by and between Redwood City 2020, through its fiscal <br />agent, the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a charter city and municipal corporation of the <br />State of California ("City"), and Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. ("Kaiser"), all of <br />which entities are referred to collectively as "the Parties." <br /> <br />WITNESSETH: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in 1995 the City, Elementary School District, High School District <br />and County formed Redwood City 2020 (formerly known as Redwood City 2000) to <br />provide leadership and oversight necessary to develop a coordinated system from birth <br />to 1 ih grade to strengthen academic and social outcomes for children and youth and <br />provide valuable resources to families so they can be successful primary caregivers to <br />their children, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, each year, since the formation of Redwood City 2020, the City, <br />Elementary School District, High School District and County have renewed the <br />Redwood City 2020 partnership by formal agreement; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in June 2005, Kaiser Permanente became a partner in <br />Redwood City 2020; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Parties desire to renew their participation in Redwood City 2020 <br />formation agreement for Fiscal Year 2006-2007. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, IN CONSIDERATION OF THE MUTUAL COVENANTS <br />AND CONDITIONS CONTAINED HEREIN, THE PARTIES AGREE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. Purpose. The Parties are entering into this Agreement for the sole <br />purpose of providing assistance to, and allowing the establishment of, Redwood City <br />2020. Redwood City 2020 exists for two major purposes: <br /> <br />a. To provide a forum wherein representatives of public entities can <br />work together and with members of the private sector, business and the <br />community at large to improve the quality of life in Redwood City. <br />b. To provide oversight to the work of ongoing collaborative efforts <br />and programs within the City that are working toward quality of life <br />improvements. <br /> <br />Atty/Agr/RC2020 Master Agreement <br />040104 <br />
