<br />MSR:lt:7/9/73 R <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />JUl16 .U <br /> <br />ORD.!.NANCE <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />IOb~ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ADDING SECTION 12.14.1 TO THE CODE OF THE <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, RELATING TO AUTOMATIC SPRINKLER <br />SYSTEMS <br /> <br />THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. Section 12.14.1 is hereby added to Article II of <br /> <br />Chapter 12 of the Code of the city of Redwood City to read as <br /> <br />follows: <br /> <br />"Section 12.14.1 Section 13.30.1 is hereby added to <br /> <br />the Fire Code to read as follows: <br /> <br />II I Section 13.30.1 Approved Automatic Sprinkler <br /> <br />Systems. <br /> <br />ilia. Approved automatic sprinkler systems are <br /> <br />those fire extinguishing systems employing automatic <br /> <br />sprinklers attached to a piping system containing water <br /> <br />and connected to a water supply so that water discharges <br /> <br />immediately from sprinklers opened by a fire, that comply <br /> <br />in all respects with the requirements adopted for such <br /> <br />systems by the State Fire Marshal. <br /> <br />"lb. Approved automatic sprinkler systems shall <br /> <br />include a monitoring device, or devices, which shall <br /> <br />operate on a continuous basis, to provide immediate <br /> <br />notification of any activation of such systems either <br /> <br />to a central station as described in the National Fire <br /> <br />Protection Association, Pamphlet No. 71, as it now <br /> <br />exists or as it may from time to time be amended, or <br /> <br />to the Redwood city Fire Department. <br /> <br />IIIC.
