Section 3.84 of the Code of the Cit:y of Redwood City is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 3.84 Permits shall .not be required for the following signsi provided, that only one of each such signs shall be permitted for each street frontage of any parcel of real property unless specifically provided otherwise: "(a) A sign and a bulletin board, each not over 16 square feet in area, for any charitable or religious institution when located on the pre~ises of such institution. "(b) A sign not exceeding 32 square, feet, in area denoting the architects, engineer and contractors of any work act,ually under construct.ion. Individual signs mounted on a single backing not exceeding 32 square feet in area shall comply with this paragraph. "(c) A sign not exceeding two square feet in area, plus, for buildings in nonresidentially zoned districts, one square foot for each tenant in the building, denoting only the name of a building or the names and professions of the occupant,s of a building. "(d) A memorial sign or tablet and the name of a building and date of erection, when not in excess of ten square feet. "(e) A sign not exceeding two square feet in area designating the location of a public utility facility available for public use, including telephones. "(f) A sign authorized by a garage sale permit duly issued pursuant to the provisions of Article III of Chapter 6 of this Code. "Any sign purported to be placed pursuant to the pro- visions of this section and which is in ilCioJ.ation thereof may be removed immediately and without notice by the Building Inspector.
