<br />DES:yc:4/7/71 <br /> <br />ORJGINAL <br /> <br />/IP\l1.9 -1\ <br /> <br />ORDINANCE <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />/~ 8e <br /> <br />ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF THE <br />PROVISIONS OF SECTION 2.24 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE ISSUANCE AND SIGNATURES <br />OF CHECKS AND WARRANTS DRAWN ON CITY FUNDS, AND ESTAB- <br />LISHING INTERIM AUTHORITY OF CERTAIN OFFICIALS HEREIN <br />DESIGNATED TO SIGN WARRANTS AND CHECKS, AND AUTHORIZING <br />THE USE OF FACSIMILE SIGNATURES IN CONNECTION THEREWITH <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the position of City Manager <br /> <br />may become vacant prior to the appointment of a successor (other <br /> <br />than an appointment pro tempore) to the person presently holding <br /> <br />said position; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 59 of the <br /> <br />Charter of the City of Redwood city, this Council desires to <br /> <br />designate certain City officers to issue and sign all warrants <br /> <br />and checks of the city during such interim period as may occur, <br /> <br />and to suspend the provisions of Section 2.24 of the Code of the <br /> <br />City of Redwood city relating to the issuance and signatures of <br /> <br />checks and warrants drawn on City funds during said interim <br /> <br />period; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE i <br /> <br />THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. In the event of, and upon the occurrence of, a <br /> <br />vacancy in the position of the office of City Manager of the city <br /> <br />of Redwood city, and notwithstanding the appointment of a city <br /> <br />Manager Pro Tempore during such vacancy, the provisions of section <br /> <br />2.24 of the Code of the city of Redwood City relating to the issuance <br /> <br />and signatures of checks and warrants drawn on City funds shall <br /> <br />be suspended, and the provisions of Section 2 of this ordinance <br /> <br />shall become effective from and after the occurrence of such <br /> <br />vacancy. Upon the appointment (other than the appointment of a <br /> <br />city Manager Pro Tempore) of a successor to the person holding the <br /> <br />position of City Manager upon the date of adoption of this ordinance, <br />
