<br />REG.ek 6/30/66 <br /> <br />ORD1.NANCE <br /> <br />NO.~ <br /> <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3.62 OF THE CODE OF <br />THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE MEASURE- <br />MENT OF SIGN AREAS <br /> <br />THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. Section 3.62 of the Code of the City of <br /> <br />Redwood City is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"SECTION 3.62. The area of any sign shall be <br /> <br />exposed face area, including any background or backing <br /> <br />constructed, painted or installed as an integral part <br /> <br />of such sign. <br /> <br />Where separately backed or individual cut-out <br /> <br />figures or letters are used, the area shall be measured <br /> <br />as the area of the smallest polygon, at not to exceed <br /> <br />six straight sides, which will completely enclose all <br /> <br />figures, letters, designs and tubing which are a part <br /> <br />of such sign. Where such separate or individual com- <br /> <br />ponent elements of a sign are spaced or separated from <br /> <br />one another by an area equal to or greater than the <br /> <br />area of the adjoining component element, each component <br /> <br />element shall be considered a separate sign. <br /> <br />The area of double faced signs shall be the area <br /> <br />of the larger single face." <br /> <br />SECTION 2.
