MAR - b 1989 <br /> <br />---------- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION DECLARING WEEDS TO BE A NUISANCE; AND <br />SETTING PUBLIC HEARING FOR APRIL 3, 1989 <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. That this Council, upon evidence presented by the City <br /> <br />Manager, has determined that weeds, rubbish, dirt and rank <br /> <br />growths, of Redwood City, do exist upon private property within <br /> <br />those certain areas of the City of Redwood City delineated upon <br /> <br />"Exhibit A," attached hereto and by this reference incorporated <br /> <br />herein, and in and upon the sidewalks, parkways, streets, <br /> <br />avenues, roadways, boulevards, highways and alleys likewise <br /> <br />delineated and situated within the City of Redwood City. <br /> <br />2. This Council does hereby (a) declare such weeds, <br /> <br />rubbish, dirt and rank growths to be a public nuisance, (b) <br /> <br />direct that every property owner, <br /> <br />lessee or occupant of <br /> <br />buildings, grounds or lots with aforesaid areas of the City of <br /> <br />Redwood City shall destroy or remove the same, and (c) declare <br /> <br />that unless said nuisance be abated without delay by the <br /> <br />destruction or removal of such weeds, rubbish, dirt and rank <br /> <br />growths, the Council of the City of Redwood City shall cause said <br /> <br />nuisance to be abated and shall cause the expense of such <br /> <br />abatement to be assessed upon the lots and lands from which, <br /> <br />and/or in front or rear of which, such weeds shall have been <br /> <br />destroyed or removed, in accordance with and in the manner <br /> <br />provided by Article IV (commencing at ~14.38) of Chapter 14, of <br /> <br />the Code of the City of Redwood City. <br /> <br />IU}J96 <br />
