DAS:mmg 8/4/88 (#22/013) COPY AUG 8 1988 ---------- RES 0 L UTI 0 N N O. 10841 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF SEVEN (7) POLICE VEHICLES AND THREE (3) FIRE VEHICLES THROUGH THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS; AND AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AGREEMENT paR PURCHASE OF SAID EQUIPMENT WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City desires to purchase seven (7) police vehicles and three (3) fire vehicles; and WHEREAS, Redwood City Code Section 2.80 provides that Redwood City may request any local agency to purchase equipment on behalf of the City provided that the bidding procedures of said local agency are substantially equivalent to those of Redwood City, that the equipment be purchased pursuant to those competitive bidding procedures, and meets other such requirements as are set forth in said Section 2.80; and WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles has, following bidding procedures similar to those required by Article VII, commencing with Section 2.63 of the Redwood City Code, awarded a bid for the purchase of police vehicles and fire vehicles, to Sopp Chevrolet, Huntington Park, California; and WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles is willing to act as the agency of County of Redwood City for the purpose of purchasing seven (7) police vehicles and three (3) fire vehicles through the County of Los Angeles purchase order for said vehicles; and WHEREAS, this Council desires to substitute the County of Los Angeles's bidding procedures for those of the City of Redwood City, to designate the County of Los Angeles as the City's agent for the purpose of purchasing the aforesaid vehicles, and to authorize City Manager to enter into an agreement for the purchase of said equipment from Sopp Chevrolet; and 10841
