<br />SWC'-4.lj k <br /> <br />5/19/88 <br /> <br />(#21) COpy <br />MAY 2 3 1988 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />10798 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CHIEF OF POLICE TO ISSUE PERMIT <br />TO INNOVATIVE SPORTS MARKETING FOR THE BICYCLE EVENT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Vehicle Code Sections 21100 and 21101, <br /> <br />respectively, local authorities, by resolution, may adopt rules <br /> <br />and regulations regulating processions or assemblages on streets <br /> <br />under their jurisdiction, and temporarily closing a portion of <br /> <br />any street for celebrations, parades, local special events and <br /> <br />other purposes when deemed necessary for the safety and <br /> <br />protection of persons who are to use that portion of the street <br /> <br />during the temporary closing; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Innovative Sports Marketing ("ISM") has requested <br /> <br />that this Council permit it to conduct the Bicycle Event in and <br />along several hereinafter described City streets and adj acent <br /> <br />right-of-way on June 19, 1988, and it is the intent and desire of <br /> <br />this Council to permit ISM to conduct said event, and to close <br /> <br />said streets and adjacent right-of-way, as hereinafter set forth; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />I. This Council does hereby grant to ISM the right to <br /> <br />conduct the Bicycle Event in the City of Redwood City on <br /> <br />June 19, 1988, and does hereby authorize and direct the Chief of <br /> <br />Police to issue a permit to ISM for said purpose. <br /> <br />10798 <br />
