<br />D'RS:djk 04/15/88 (#21) <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />10770 <br /> <br />APR 1 8 1988 <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY EXTENDING <br />GREETINGS TO THE CITIZENS AND GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF <br />ZHUHAI, PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA <br /> <br />WHEREAS, better understanding of people world-wide is best <br /> <br />achieved through personal sharing of common interests; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the people of THE City of Redwood City, California, <br /> <br />U. S .A., through their elected representatives, the Council of <br /> <br />Redwood City, desire to encourage such understanding; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City, with a population of <br /> <br />approximately 58,000 persons, is located in San Mateo County on <br /> <br />the San Francisco Peninsula, and includes, as one of its <br /> <br />municipal enterprises, the Port of Redwood City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, delegates from the City of Redwood City, the Port <br /> <br />of Redwood City, and the County of San Mateo are visiting <br /> <br />communities interested in developing international cultural <br /> <br />exchanges, commerce and shipping; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said delegates shall visit the City of Zhuhai, <br /> <br />People's Republic of China; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />This Council does hereby extend greetings to the citizens <br /> <br />and government of the City of Zhuhai, People's Republic of China, <br /> <br />and does hereby respectfully invite the representatives of the <br /> <br />City of Zhuhai to explore with the delegates from the City of <br />Redwood City, the Port of Redwood City and the County of San <br /> <br />Mateo, the development of cultural exchanges, commerce and <br /> <br />shipping between our respective communities. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />10770 <br />
