<br />DES:~ik 03/09/88 (#21) <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />1. 0 733 <br /> <br />MAR 1 4 1988 <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION COMMENDING COUNTYWIDE TRANSPORTATION <br />COMMITTEE FOR ITS EFFORTS IN ADDRESSING TRANSPORTATION <br />NEEDS, AND COMMENDING BRENTON C. BRITSCHGI, AS THE <br />REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ON SAID <br />COMMITTEE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />a <br /> <br />Countywide <br /> <br />Transportation <br /> <br />Committee <br /> <br />was <br /> <br />established to prepare and recommend for approval by its <br /> <br />represented agencies a transportation Capital Improvements <br /> <br />Expenditure Plan as the basis for a ballot proposition on the <br /> <br />question of enacting a 1/2 cent sales tax for transportation <br /> <br />improvements throughout the incorporated and unincorporated areas <br /> <br />of the County of San Mateo; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Transportation Committee was comprised of 23 <br /> <br />members, representing the County of San Mateo and all of the <br /> <br />cities within said County and the San Mateo County Transit <br /> <br />District; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />following <br /> <br />numerous <br /> <br />meetings <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />extensive <br /> <br />negotiations, and subordinating local preferences in the interest <br /> <br />of achieving a consensus, the Committee did approve a Countywide <br /> <br />Transportation Expenditure Plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a majority of the 20 City Councils representing a <br /> <br />majori ty of the County I s population, and the County Board of <br /> <br />Supervisors and the Board of Directors of the Transit District <br /> <br />have approved the Countywide Transportation Expenditure Plan and <br /> <br />said Board of Supervisors has ordered the aforesaid tax measure <br /> <br />to be placed on the ballot for the June 1988 election; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the members of the <br /> <br />Committee be commended for their exemplary efforts in achieving a <br /> <br />1 0733 <br />
