<br />FEB 8 1988 <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1 0 71 8 <br />COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING <br />MARY O'CONNELL ON RECEIVING THE <br />"1987 PERSON OF THE YEAR AWARD" <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Redwood City-San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce is <br />presenting its "1987 Person of the Year Award" to Mary O'Connell and she <br />is deserving of special recognition and highest commendations from the <br />people of Redwood City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this award is also called the President's Award because it <br />recognizes the one person who, more than anyone else, has made the <br />greatest impact on the success of a President.s year; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mary O'Connell joins 17 other outstanding Chamber leaders <br />who came before; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mary O'Connell displays an enthusiasm for the Chamber's <br />overall program, a willingness to accept multiple tasks, is accomplished <br />in many phases of the Chamber's program and demonstrates personal <br />commitment and dedication to the success of her assignment; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mary O'Connell is a native of Redwood City and represents <br />Bay Area Bank as its Business Development Officer; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mary O'Connell served as Chairman of the Chamber's <br />Internal Operations Department and was instrumental in the success of <br />Casino Night and the first ever Ray Wersching Benefit/Celebrity Golf <br />Tournament; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mary O'Connell serves as an outstanding representative of <br />our Chamber of Commerce wherever she goes, whether spending a Saturday <br />morning collecting litter during Redwood City's Clean up Campaign or <br />selling wine from a booth; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mary O.Connell sincerely cares <br />about making our community one of which <br /> <br />about other <br />we can all <br /> <br />people, and <br />be proud; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that Mary O'Connell be congratulated on <br />her receipt of the "1987 Person of the Year Award" from the Redwood <br />City-San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce, commended on her exemplary <br />record of civic leadership and responsibility, and extended sincere best <br />wishes for continued success in the future. <br /> <br />1 0 71 8 <br />
