11/23/98 <br /> <br /> -- ORIGINAL - <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 13519 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION <br /> OF AGREEMENT FOR THE FUNDING OF OFF-SITE ROADWAY <br /> IMPROVEMENTS RELATING TO VETERANS BOULEVARD AND <br /> WHIPPLE AVENUE ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS <br /> <br /> (GOOD NITE INN) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City adopted a Mitigated <br />Negative Declaration ("MND") addressing the development of a 44-room addition <br />(the "Project") to an existing 126-room hotel facility on May 19, 1998; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the property upon which the Project is to be constructed <br />comprises approximately 1.25 acres and is located at 485 Veterans Boulevard in <br />Redwood City, California; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the MND included a Focused Traffic Impact Study which <br />determined that the Project will generate approximately 320 trips on a typical <br />weekday that will contribute to the existing congestion at and in the vicinity of the <br />Whipple Avenue/Veterans Boulevard intersection; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the MND Traffic Analysis further shows that the addition of <br />traffic generated by the Project and other developments in its vicinity (generally <br />referred to as "Other Developments) will exacerbate existing traffic delays at and <br />in the vicinity of the Whipple Avenue/Veterans Boulevard intersection; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as of the date of City's approval of this Agreement, City has <br />not adopted a Citywide or Areawide traffic impact fee program applicable to the <br />Project pursuant to Government Code Section 66000, et seq.
